WOOD WOOD x Champion Capsule Collection
by Adriano B.
Danish contemporary lifestyle brand Wood Wood announced their involvement with Champion Select – a limited edition designer collaboration project with innovative athletic apparel brand, Champion Athletic Wear.
In partnership with three directional designers curated by the Capsule Show, the Champion Select line has been created exclusively for Urban Outfitters and will be available January 2015 in select Urban Outfitters stores in the United States and Canada. The Wood Wood Champion Select collection will launch exclusively for sale in Europe at W.W. stores including www.woodwood.dk on January 26th.
Wood Wood’s collaborative offering is a seven piece capsule collection spanning both menswear and womenswear, updating classic sportswear staples with the brand’s signature laid back style.
The men’s collection consists of a classic short-sleeved crewneck sweatshirt, an iconic coach jacket and a full but- ton-down polo shirt – a design focused hybrid between a modern polo shirt and a classic baseball jersey.
“For me, Champion reflects American sportswear legacy as the most authentic brand of all. The brand also relates to my youth as it played a major part of the whole graffiti / hip hop culture in Copenhagen in the 90s, where Cham- pion hoodies and basketball jerseys were obligatory.” – said Karl Oskar Olsen, Wood Wood co-founder and creative director.
