Silas Henriksen, dancer with The Netherlands dance theater since 2010. Originally from Norway, Silas is a rare export of norwegian dance abroad. His fascination for the beautiful and elegant, ugly and obscure is pushing him forward in his profession. He says: “I find the role as an artist complicated. You have to deal with so many emotions everyday. There is a big insecurity dwelling over you, having to express yourself with your body. I want to be free as an artist. Like being in a trance without any restrictions. Its hard to maintain this type of freedom. Sometimes I feel great, sometimes very mediocre”.
