AMOS ANANDA | COLLECTION 03
by Adriano B.
AMOS ANANDA is a unisex streetwear label with a luxurious and utilitarian detailing, demonstrating an athletic yet sophisticated aesthetic. The Collection 03 was inspired by the freedom of life, the designer took us to Shangrila 香格里拉 Yunnan 云南 to embark on his journey to capture the moments and to source for a special Miaozu fabric.
“It is about doing what you love, and love what you do. you have the freedom to control the life on how you want it to be and how great it can be. this spirit is a message which i wish to portray about the way you live your everyday life” – said the designer.
This journey led to the discovery of an ancient Miaozu silkscreen print fabric. The prints depicts the ancient Miaozu times where people thrived for better days of own freedom. It is introduced into the collection through cut and sewn technique on a rare japanese denim.
Photos captured by the designer of the journey to the snow mountains in Shangrila, can also be seen in the creations of the ‘Shangrila patchwork tee’. Another ancient fabric sourced, was a cotton fabric that was produced by using traditional Miaozu technique to give a leather/linen paper finishing to the fabric.
“The road may be tough, but the mission has to go on. the body may take its toll, but not the determination.” – said Amos Ananda
