PUMA collaborate with celebrated NYC artist Todd James on a focussed capsule collection of directional, graphic led apparel. The collection imbues PUMA’s celebrated apparel with a sense of youthful mischief and fun that is at the heart of everything Todd James does in his own work.
Todd James (a.k.a. REAS) is a self-taught, multi-media artist who began his career as a child in the NYC subway system. His knack for the ironic and amorphous has spawned hip-hop emblems, puppet icons, and urban installations.
“Essentials is the perfect blend of product and culture from a brand like Converse. Focussed around classic sportswear items, redefined for streetwear….it mirrors the story of Converse as a brand, born in sport, raised by the streets.”
For the Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, co-founders and artistic directors of Maison Kitsuné, drew their inspiration from American pop culture and the aesthetic and creative energie of New York born, Paris based, artist William Klein.
