KENZO Debuts Collaboration with HUNTER for FW23
by Adriano Batista
KENZO unveiled its debut collaboration with the iconic British heritage brand, Hunter, a nod to the ‘East meets West’ fusion at the heart of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 season. This unique collection also pays homage to the Ivy League spirit, adding a touch of classic charm to contemporary fashion.
The KENZO x Hunter capsule collection introduces high and mid-top footwear, inspired by the timeless duck-hunting boots of the 1960s. These boots come in a luxurious blend of rubber, suede, and leather, showcasing a color palette that marries Hunter’s army green and black with a pop of ‘KENZO red’ and the iconic Boke flowers.
For the boys, a practical lace-up ankle boot in army-green leather features a recycled nylon upper, complete with traditional zigzag lacing on the front. The exaggerated red sole and black shell foxing are responsibly crafted from FSC-certified rubber, sourced from well-managed forests. The boot is adorned with all-over Boke flower outsoles and distinctive logo branding, spelling out ‘Hunter’ on the tongue and ‘KENZO PARIS’ at the upper’s back. A versatile ankle boot mirrors the construction of the aforementioned styles, featuring an upper made from felt, leather, and recycled polyester. It’s complemented by a cover gaiter, available in army green and red combinations, or an all-black version.
To wrap it up, the classic unisex Wellington boot from 1956 gets a stylish makeover, featuring the signature KENZO Boke flower on the side. This Wellington boot is crafted from robust, vulcanized rubber with a matte finish. Inside, playful Hana dots line the boot’s interior, made from recycled polyester. The Hunter box logo is proudly displayed at the top front.
