David Catalán’s FW24/25 Collection Celebrates Portuguese Heritage and Sustainable Fashion
by Adriano Batista
Inspired by the ancient art of Cobertores de Papa de Maçainhas and Castelo Branco embroidery, David Catalán’s FW24/25 collection “The Blanket” pays homage to the rural beauty of Portugal. The collection evokes the serene atmosphere of the countryside, where shepherds, granite villages, and misty landscapes create a harmonious scenery.
The collection showcases the fusion of tradition and innovation, using wool and fabric as the main materials, while also incorporating denim sets and churra sheep wool imitation. The colors reflect the natural elements of the Portuguese landscape, such as creams, browns, greens, and blues.
The silhouettes are relaxed and cozy, featuring oversized coats, knitwear, mini-shorts, and sweaters. The denim sets are embellished with 3D embroidery, adding a touch of texture and sophistication.
