Dr. Martens’ QUBIST: An Unparalleled Comfort Experience
by Adriano Batista
Dr. Martens presents the QUBIST, a new collection that redefines the brand’s approach to comfort. It is a minimalist take on their 14XX line, focusing on ergonomic design.
The 14XX category is evolving, moving away from maximalism to embrace a pared-down aesthetic. The new boots have a slim, unisex, and laceless silhouette, stripping away anything unnecessary.
This focus on innovation is not new. It goes back to the brand’s beginnings with the iconic AirWair sole, a revolutionary invention that each generation has rediscovered. The QUBIST is built on an entirely new sole, inspired by an archival design but reworked for modern comfort. The cube-shaped sole offers the brand’s greatest flexibility, allowing for a more natural stride. The boot also features a wider fit and a cushioned insole designed for comfort.
The collection includes two styles: a Chelsea boot and a Zip boot. Both are made from a soft yet durable black leather. The Chelsea has a taller silhouette with an extended leather and elastic gusset. The Zip boot combines leather with a woven synthetic upper, fastened with a discreet front zipper.
Both unisex styles are secured with black stitching and finished with the iconic monochrome heel loop. The collection is available in Dr. Martens stores and online.
