Montblanc’s Meisterstück is hitting a milestone—its 100th birthday—and to mark the occasion, they’ve teamed up with Wes Anderson for a unique celebration. Instead of a traditional campaign, Anderson has crafted a film that captures the essence of the Meisterstück with his signature blend of whimsy and visual flair.
The Meisterstück debuted in 1924 and quickly became more than just a pen. Its black cigar-shaped design, accented with gold rings and a gold nib, made it a standout piece.
In the film, actors Rupert Friend, Jason Schwartzman, and Anderson himself play characters who find themselves in a fantastical version of Montblanc’s headquarters. They’re there to tell the tale of the Meisterstück, and they do so in a way that’s distinctly Anderson—full of fun, oddity, and stunning visuals.
The story isn’t just about the Meisterstück. It’s a celebration of handwriting itself. The film reminds us that whether you’re jotting down a note, writing a heartfelt letter, or starting a novel, there’s something special about putting pen to paper.
