On September 1st, the Kunsthaus Zürich opened its doors to fashion. Mode Suisse returned for another year, transforming the museum’s Pfistersaal (a space usually reserved for art) into a runway. The event brought together 22 participants, with 13 of them being newcomers, highlighting the platform’s commitment to fostering new talent.

The evening was a showcase of diversity and purpose. The collections presented ranged from the folkloric punk knitwear of TATi to the contemplative couture of HENDRIK VERMEULEN. A significant part of the show was the continued presence of ADAPT by SPF, an initiative by the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and Mode Suisse. For the third time, and more integrated than ever, pieces designed for wheelchair users were included within five different designers’ collections on the runway.

The runway was set against colorful rugs and a floral installation, while an exclusive live music collaboration provided the soundtrack. In the foyer, the bustling showroom displayed the participants’ collections and hosted two exhibitions, one from the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich and another showcasing Rafael Kouto’s “Circular Heroes” project.

From the opening walk by students from School Doing Fashion – Basel to the final collection by the award-winning studio remo, the night underscored a central theme: fashion as a collaborative, inclusive, and deeply creative force. Mode Suisse proved itself, once again, to be a vital platform for Switzerland’s diverse and inspirational fashion community.
