LOEWE Reimagines the Teapot for Salone del Mobile 2025
by Adriano Batista
For its ninth Salone del Mobile presentation, LOEWE is turning something ordinary into something extraordinary. LOEWE Teapots, a collection of 25 one-of-a-kind vessels created by artists, designers, and architects, take center stage at Milan’s Palazzo Citterio until April 13, 2025. More than just functional objects, these teapots explore form, material, and cultural traditions, proving that even the simplest everyday items can be works of art.
Each artist approached the project differently—some working with classic porcelain and ceramic, others pushing the materials in unexpected directions. The results are sculptural, playful, and deeply personal, drawing from global tea rituals while redefining what a teapot can look like.
Alongside the exhibition, LOEWE debuts a range of home accessories, including woven leather coasters, teapot cozies, and delicate leather charms shaped like chamomile, strawberries, bergamot flowers, and even tea bags. Spanish craftsmanship also plays a key role, with teapots made from Galician clay—some left raw, others glimmering with gold and silver enamel, echoing the hand-painted tiles of CASA LOEWE stores.
For those who want to take a piece of the experience home, LOEWE has created a special Earl Grey tea candle, blending black tea and bergamot oil in a terracotta vessel finished with iridescent gold glaze. There’s also a collaboration with Kyoto’s Kaikado, a 150-year-old Japanese tinware workshop, resulting in elegant tea caddies adorned with brass and leather detailing. The largest size even comes with its own woven leather case.
And because no tea experience is complete without the perfect blend, LOEWE worked with London’s Postcard Teas on Fiori e Sapori—a limited-edition mix of Indian black tea, French lemon verbena, Moroccan roses, Croatian chamomile, and Calabrian bergamot oil. It’s a fragrant celebration of spring, available exclusively at Postcard Teas.
