Martin Margiela’s belief, “I believe in blurring the lines between art and fashion,” is not just a quote for the Maison. It is a working principle. This spirit is the foundation of a new project called Maison Margiela Line 2.

This new line is a platform for creative conversation. It is designed as a space for unexpected partnerships, a figurative white canvas waiting for collaborators to make their mark. The goal is to stage exchanges between two people to see what compelling cultural reactions they can create together. These collaborations can take many forms, from art installations and talks to campaigns.

The number 2 is central to the project’s identity. It represents the core idea of dual collaboration, the act of splicing two minds to produce a new result. This concept will even shape the events themselves, reflected in dates, locations, and visual cues.

For its first project, Maison Margiela Line 2 brings together visual artist Heemin Chung and sound artist Joyul. Together, they have created an immersive art installation titled Elsewhere, Rhema, Open Torso. Their work is inspired by the house’s Fall/Winter 2025 theme, which explores traces of memory and transformation. This first collaborative piece will be on display at the Maison’s flagship store in Seoul’s Hannam district from September 3rd to September 28th. It is the first material step in a continuing dialogue.
