London-born, Catalunya-based artist SALPA – aka Luke Bower – releases his debut album What You Do Alone under casa nueve, a new independent record label created by SALPA alongside fellow creatives Malena Zavala, Miriam Valencia, and long-term collaborator and partner, Uma.

Written and directed by Harvey Pearson, What You Do Alone is an epic ride that totally captures the vibe of SALPA’s latest album.  It’s all about storytelling and real connections, blending together in a way that’s way beyond your typical film. The movie takes you on a journey of self-acceptance, growth, and facing your inner battles.

Every song is like a new chapter in the story, mixing light and dark, fire and water, loss and hope—just like the album’s emotional highs and lows. Filmed in the stunning landscapes of Catalunya, the visuals flow with the natural beauty around them, making the whole experience feel poetic and raw.

What You Do Alone is all about resilience, love, and finding yourself.

“The origins of this film trace back to my first conversations with Luke (SALPA), where our shared appreciation for each other’s work quickly evolved into a creative collaboration. As I immersed myself in his upcoming album, What You Do Alone, I found myself deeply drawn to its themes—reflections that resonated with my own experiences.

From the outset, I wanted to craft a visual journey that embodied the album’s emotional arc, so we set out to create a film that took on multiple tracks from the album. What You Do Alone navigates the contrasts of existence—darkness and light, fire and water, loss and hope—each element serving as a metaphor for personal growth and acceptance.

The landscapes of Catalunya became more than a backdrop; they became a vital part of the storytelling, shaping the film’s atmosphere and emotional weight. Through this visual and sonic world, the film explores the power of acceptance and the idea that confronting our inner struggles is the only way forward.

At its heart, What You Do Alone is a meditation on the transformative nature of love and self-acceptance.” – Harvey Pearson
