Explore the magical realm of fantasy conjured up in our latest issue Tales!
Consider it your very own retreat from the chaos of everyday life, a safe haven to return to whenever you need a dose of whimsy and wonder.
The tales we tell take many forms. But one of the oldest that adapts to every community is music which enhances the storytelling experience. Like clothing, it can set a mood and convey an emotion. This issue sees Spanish musician Guitarricadelafuente grace our cover, shot by Manu Jaime, in Kenzo FW23 conveying that wandering spirit. A limited-edition second cover is available with Frieder photographed by Aytekin Yalcin and styled by Esteban Pomar from “A New Testament” story.
Storytelling is passed down from generation to generation, these stories help to define culture and create a sense of identity, making up the anecdotes we find ourselves sharing daily. In short, they are the ultimate life hack for navigating the twists and turns of the human experience. We speak to designers Charles de Vilmorin, Kevin Germanier, Nicolas Di Felice, and Ruslan Baginskiy about their own journeys, legends, folklore, and stories that have navigated them through, while artists David Oliver and Miju Lee get whisked away and discuss a contemporary perspective on creativity, and Uta Bekaia brings utopian wonderlands come to life.
Featured photographers Abel Bueno, Aytekin Yalcin, Emma Picq, Fabien Dumas, Francisco Narciso, Giovanni Fedele, Isaac Calpe, Jorge Fuster, Marc Medina, Michiel Meewis, Paris se quema, Pavliy Danylo, and Renaud Labelle captivate our imaginations like the illustrations in our favorite books.
