Our A/W 2015-16 issue includes 263 pages dedicated to a single theme: OBSESSION
Life consists of obsessions. A priori we could think that an obsession is a bad thing, often uncontrollable and dominating our daily life. And it is, but it can also be a force for good, something that helps us shape who we are and who we want to be. A stubborn obsession can be a coded message that we still haven’t figured out. If there is something that you’re really obsessed with, you should ask yourself why and try to find a way to benefit from it.
In our case, fashion is something that has fascinated us since childhood – beauty and the search for aesthetic pleasure, for what’s different, for elegance and sometimes simply for provocation. We’re in love with fashion, and a passion is an obsession. The enthusiasm with which we buy fashion magazines, watch fashion films or listen to the music that inspires us…the nervousness and even anxiety that enters us when we see the collections of our favourite designers during the different fashion weeks.
All of this propelled us to create Fucking Young! as you know it today. Every little obsession has helped us to construct what we have and in turn we’ve discovered new passions.
For our seventh issue we wanted to review the various facets of an obsession, through the photographers and stylists that collaborate with us – obsessions with music, with cleanliness, with clothes, with posing, with sex. We also have interviews with people who inspire us and feed our obsessions like Pierre et Gilles, Mark Colle and Milan Vukmirovic. The cover, created by Pierre et Gilles, the iconic Parisian artists that we’ve been admiring for years, depicts Lucky Blue Smith, fashion’s most recent obsession.
