Ryota Iwai behind the Japanese brand AURALEE opened Paris Fashion Week with their Fall/Winter 2025 collection which unfollowed as a creative exercise in individual styling while not shying away from nostalgic and vintage elements with modern simplicity that has continued to define their signature aesthetic.
“This collection seeks to capture this kind of personal charm, style, and understanding of self— the expression of individuality transcending clothing and time. It’s also about the relationship between personal artifacts and the modern wardrobe: an old leather jacket from one’s younger days, a knit cardigan, now too small, that still offers unmatched comfort and reassurance, or a well-worn baseball cap, battered by time but still the go-to against the elements. Through this collection, we aim to honor these keepsakes and mementos — items that remain with us, adapting to new contexts while holding onto their deep personal meaning..” – Ryota Iwai, AURALEE
Vibrant pops of colors created a variety to the palette made up of natural textures from leather to cashmere against sleek and compact silhouettes found in tailoring to outerwear. New to this season were more denim options that struck accord with busy urban life and leisure. The balance is that of functionality and allure.
