The ASVOFF festival(A shaded view on fashion film) created by American journalist and philanthropist Diane Pernet in 2008 features some of the edgiest short movies, documentaries and performances between fashion and cinema. The 2022 edition will be held in Paris from November 10 et 13 inside the 35-37 in the Marais district in Paris. Diane invites model and brand ambassador Caroline de Maigret as president of the jury and French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajc will be the honorary president. The festival is also Pauling a tribute to the mythical designer with a retrospective documentary on his career.
This year, the ASVOF Festival has picked a large panel of talents to be part of the jury. We can list: Comme des Garçons visual image director Andrew Taylor Parr, content creator IDESERVECOUTURE (Hanan Besovic), filmmaker and actress Sara Driver, multi-disciplinary artist José Levy, Fashion designer Pam Hogg as well as musician Jay-Jay Johanson. To be noted that for the opening night on November 10th, Swedish musician Jay-Jay Johanson will perform an exclusive concert after Sara Driver movie ‘‘Boom For Real: The Late Teenage Years of Jean Michel Basquiat’’.
For the closing night on November 13th, Iconic director and photographer Bruce Weber will preview ‘‘The Treasure of His Youth: The Photographs of Paolo di Paolo’’ and will be followed by a Q&A with Weer and Silvia Di Paolo. Once again, this edition will be segmented into a multi-disciplinary program with a selection of documentaries, films, themed curations, panel discussions and performances.
