Martine Rose and Kendrick Lamar are cooking something up
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
These last few months have been very good for Martine Rose, because if we recently learned that in January 2023 she will be the next guest designer at Pitti Uomo, today we have discovered that rapper Kendrick Lamar has teamed up with her to design a collection.
This news was revealed on celebrities’ favorite social network, Instagram, through a post earlier this week, in which the rapper thanked Martine Rose for her trust and stated that it was one of his wishes to collaborate with her.
Few details are known about the collection itself, although thanks to the post we talked about, we have been able to discover some of the inspirations they both have in mind, as in the image of the mood board post there are references to Tupac, the Compton Cowboys, Eazy-E, and merch options.
All indications are that Rose and Lamar’s next designs will be shown during the artist’s “Big Steppers” tour. That’s where we’ll be able to see the pieces they’ve designed, such as a jacket embroidered with the nickname “Oklama”, a pair of leather trousers with buckles, and a black sweatshirt.
Will it be an exclusive collection for the rapper or will it also be available for purchase? We’ll see what happens…
