Designer Eli Russell Linnetz has partnered with the technology company 1X for the launch campaign of NEO, the first humanoid robot made for the home. Linnetz provided the creative direction, photography, and videography for the project.

The campaign is a photographic series that follows a full year of home life. Instead of focusing on the robot’s technology, the images explore themes of human interaction and shared time.

Linnetz explained his approach, stating, “The arrival of robots in our homes is really more about us… I sought to get up close and find the humanness in NEO itself.” His goal was to highlight how such an entity could bring people closer together by giving them more time for what they love.

The campaign imagery will be featured across digital and physical spaces for the remainder of 2025. A limited-edition zine featuring the photographs was first distributed at the launch event in Palo Alto, with plans for a wider limited release.

The campaign also features clothing from Linnetz’s own brand, ERL, visually connecting his aesthetic world to this new vision of domestic life. Check it out below:
