CAT FOOTWEAR x HARRIS TWEED
by Adriano Batista
Cat Footwear is all about embracing the here and now, and they’ve taken a step forward for FW23 by partnering up with Harris Tweed.
Harris Tweed, renowned for its durability and eco-friendliness for over a century, makes the perfect match for Cat Footwear’s rugged lifestyle staple, the Colorado 2.0.
This collaboration is a toast to the craftsmanship, determination, and grit of the folks from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. They’re the ones who source and weave the 100% wool fabric on the Isle of Harris. This fabric is like a global rockstar, with the essence of the land and its people woven into every thread. It’s a canvas of landscapes, our breathtaking scenery, and our core values.
Up north, you’ll find the Isle of Lewis, a place of raw beauty with heather, moors, and serene lochs. It’s where you’ll stumble upon Stornoway, the main harbor town, and the three Harris Tweed mills. But head south, and you’ll find a string of smaller islands, including the Uists and the stunning Barra. These islands have been the birthplace of something special: Harris Tweed.
Cat Footwear has given its iconic Colorado a makeover with three distinct Harris Tweed color schemes. Each one takes inspiration from the Outer Hebrides landscape and the surroundings of the Isle of Harris. The Harris Tweed charm is draped over the Colorado’s ankle cuff and quarter panel, ensuring not just style but also comfort and durability. The usual Cat Footwear quality is all there – a rugged rubber outsole, a cushioned foam footbed, breathable nylon mesh lining, all wrapped up in weather-resistant oiled nubuck.
