Alexander McQueen Spring 2025
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
Finally, the new Alexander McQueen bears some relation to the original, and that’s thanks to its new creative director Seán McGirr, who recently presented his Spring 2025 proposal for the British fashion house during Paris Fashion Week.
Although most of the looks that comprised the collection were for women, fortunately, there were some for men, ten to be precise, where the common point was tailoring. In Seán’s vision of menswear, there seems to be no room for casual clothes, and he imagines men dressed in elegant suits, generally double-breasted, well tailored in the shoulder area, fitted at the waist, and reminiscent of the circus world, which might be similar to the costumes worn by circus ringleaders.
In this environment, from the outside, everything is joy and shine, and the latter is evident in the jacket of the look number 41, in golden colour and embroidered with paillettes and different beads; a clear reflection of the perfect craftsmanship that is still being carried out by the firm. The handmade work that is talked about can also be noticed in the bohemian/romantic style blouses that look like something out of a fairy tale, in different powdered tones, worn with straight black trousers and large leather bags, notable for the rose-shaped charm that accompanies them.
Footwear, in different styles, completed the line as usual, although it was barely visible due to the smoke that covered the runway.
