The Johnny Winter Project is a Fall/Winter 2018 menswear capsule collection that pays tribute to the late American singer-songwriter and blues musician Johnny Winter, a lifelong inspiration to Jonny Johansson, Acne Studios Creative Director.

Delving into Johnny Winter’s personal archive, Acne Studios re-interpreted key pieces in an homage to the musician’s idiosyncratic visual persona both on and off-stage. A pair of dark rinse, straight leg jeans features stud details along the outer seams, while another pair of five pocket jeans is made from a deep burgundy velvet. There are three outerwear pieces: a duck egg blue varsity jacket, a mid-blue denim jacket with dark rinse panels and contrast color patches, and a dark rinse denim jacket with stud details along the collar, cuffs and patch pockets. A green and white striped tailored shirt with a pointed collar flashes rows of ruffles at the front, and a lilac t-shirt is emblazoned with Johnny Winter’s name.

Alongside the Acne Studios capsule collection, one-off collector’s items from Johnny Winter’s personal archive will be available to purchase online at Proceeds from the sales will go directly to the Johnny Winter Foundation for the Arts, a charity dedicated to Winter’s life and legacy.

The Johnny Winter Project will be available online and in selected stores from 25 October.
