Sergio Tacchini Footwear returns for FW23
by Adriano Batista
For Fall/Winter 2023, Sergio Tacchini delivers the second installment of its elevated footwear collection, “Livello Rosso,” infusing modern technical silhouettes while building upon the sports-inspired foundations laid in SS23. The evolving concept of contemporary court aesthetics takes center stage in the new campaign, juxtaposing court aesthetics against rugged abstract urban environments while maintaining the brand’s considered style.
Expanding on the brand’s iconic tennis lineage is the COURT CLASSIC MP, a union of iconic court silhouettes and contemporary poise. Harking back to the ’80s when Sergio Tacchini was a prominent presence in the sports and performance arena, this shoe considers global trends in outsole design, resulting in a sharp tennis lifestyle look.
Another noteworthy addition outside the brand’s tennis arena is the Y2K RUNNER. A sneaker rich in textures, details, and performance codes, in the spirit of maximalist Runner designs seen at the turn of the millennium. With its graphic Sergio Tacchini design aesthetic, the upper boasts several technical features, including the iconic Damari stripe, Breathable Air Mesh, Lightweight PU, and Molded Pattern Details, alongside Reflective Heel Details. The highly cushioned EVA midsole is supported by a Foot-Bridge and Stability Core for a smooth, stable ride.
Safety Yellow and Mauve Wine combine with a muted palette of grays and neutrals to create a sophisticated sports crossover palette, suitable for all seasons. Accompanying the Y2K RUNNER is the Y2K TRAIL RUNNER, a more technical interpretation featuring handcrafted California Reverse Construction and durable Ripstop Nylon upper with Seamless TPU Pattern Support.
The SS23 Nylon staples are joined by a material evolution; a combination of silky suede and durable Ripstop Nylon in colors inspired by Autumn. While the BB COURT LOW remains a mainstay in the collection, returning in premium suedes and leathers with pops of Tibetan Red and Pacific Turquoise in a muted palette of Quiet Greys and Maritime Blue.
