Woods_ Copenhagen, the Danish skin and body self-care vegan brand known for their innovative and organic Nordic ingredients, has unveiled their hair care line with the launch of six new products. The hair collection is vegan, rich in organic, natural ingredients, and free from sulfates, like their face and body products that define clean beauty.
Products in the new line include two shampoos and two conditioners in volumizing and nourishing options, that are designed to address different issues relating to the hair while both containing plant-based proteins and wildcrafted berries. The volumizing formula leaves hair thicker, stronger, lifted, and deeply nourished while the nourishing formula is weightless and focuses on deep hydration. Key ingredients in the nourishing range include a high concentration of hydration and moisture from rosehip, cloudberry, and blueberry that helps to bind moisture and improve the overall quality of the hair.
Verdict:
Our team was able to put the new range to the test. Additionally, I live in a household with various hair types and ages along with guests coming and going, so I could really pick everyone’s brains. Both formulas have a subtle scent of rose, citrus, and freesia, if you have a sensitive scalp or are prone to scents, don’t worry, they are very gentle.
The Nourishing shampoo and conditioner is designed for dry, thick, and curly hair, but if you are like me, and have damaged hair whether it’s the sun, age, pollution, or just years of dying, drying, and straightening, then this is your best choice as its full of with vitamins and antioxidants. I put age in there because the thing they don’t tell you is that once that first beautiful grey appears, it actually has a different texture and is prone to break. For this reason, even if you never used conditioner before, this is the time to start, if you fall in that category then go with the Nourishing set. So many products on the market have harsh chemicals and what we really liked from this was not only the detox from those chemicals but that the added Shea butter in the conditioner was very lightweight, just the right dose to leave your locks refined. The best thing is you can start using the shampoo and conditioner in a preventive matter to keep it protected from future damage.
The last thing I need is volume, I did try it and it made my hair feel stronger, but one of us in the household has very thin, fragile, straight hair, with a sensitive scalp and the Volumizing shampoo and conditioner was by far a positive hair changer. Following a week of testing, their hair had a healthy look over what they had described as dull before. Over time we will see if the texture just looks thicker or is actually developing thicker. Natural washing actives include amaranth extract and rosemary oil. The conditioner also has the rosemary oil and shea butter, but incredibly manages to lift the hair without weighing it down. Once again, conditioner really depends on the individual, but if you have had a hard time finding one for thin hair, then definitely go with the volumizing option. Our favourite part of the Volumizing duo was that they do the job if you only wash twice a week.
Just like how using a facial roller or Gua Sha, help to circulate healthy blood flow, so does brushing. Also, if you are constantly finding your hair around the house and various places, that’s a sign that you need to start brushing. If you lack shine, that’s something that brushing can help improve as well as brushing from root to tip to distribute the hair’s natural oils for shiny locks.
The Volumizing brush works with the same and similar hair types that use the volumizing shampoo and conditioner, but if you have really coarse and curly hair, go with the Detangling Brush. The bristles on both are soft, and we liked the size for even distribution between strands. It is not small, but I’ve found smaller brushes can become tedious and eventually I lose interest in brushing. The Woods_ Copenhagen options makes time pass my faster and more efficient, thus must easier to make as part of your early daily clean beauty routine.
