WOOD WOOD Fall/Winter 2013 Lookbook

A trip to the condensed City Of Cool, New York City provides the inspiration for the WOOD WOOD Fall/Winter 2013 collection. The design team was fascinated by the way New Yorkers make use of their city and how different cultures clash at certain areas in the city. Especially the small recreational spaces primarily used for sports and physical activities attracted the designers. Together with an appreciation of New York attitude and its place in music history, these influences have been translated into the garments of the new Wood Wood collection.
New York’s abundance of inspiring style clashes and alternative performance apparel, together with the New York coolness of the early punk and avant-garde rock scene of the 70´s and 80´s laid the foundation for the collection. Classic Rock´n´roll elements such as leather and zippers are mixed with sporty details resulting in new and interesting styles.
This theme also makes its way into the garments by fusing elements of sport and more tailored expressions. Continuing from last season, the F/W 13 collection has a strong emphasis on tailoring – of course with a certain Wood Wood touch. The performance element also goes hand-in-hand with corporate inspired graphics printed in odd places on everything from beanies and skirts to pea coats.
The collection consists of a mix of recognizable styles that are redefined with new detailing. The colour scheme is based on classic black, white, navy and army green mixed with mid-tones and bright explosions. The element of contrast and surprise that has become a trademark of Wood Wood, is also evident in the wide range of materials used. Thus nylon, wool, premium jerseys, leather and more are combined and used in the enhanced details, simple cut lines and hybrids of classics in the collection.
