Vivienne Westwood Fall/Winter 2024/25 campaign
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
British fashion house Vivienne Westwood, creatively directed by Andreas Kronthaler, doesn’t seem to have much appreciation for the warmest season of the year, because although it has just begun, they have already set their eyes on the Fall/Winter season, as they have recently unveiled their corresponding advertising campaign.
Juergen Teller, a renowned German photographer, has once again been chosen to shoot in Margate (a city on the southeast coast of England) the images that make up the portfolio, in which can be seen the American supermodel Kristen McMenamy and Andreas himself among others models, wearing the glamorous creations with punk touches designed for the cold months. As far as menswear is concerned, everything points to the firm’s strong commitment to tailoring and tartan prints from Lochcarron of Scotland.
Of the campaign, Kronthaler said the following: “I went to Margate for the first time in the late 90s, it seemed to me the most quintessential English seaside place therefore I always wanted to do a campaign shoot there. Of course it has changed a lot since then. It’s a place I feel comfortable and welcome, I find the people extremely sweet and friendly. It is very picturesque and there is a certain light there which must have to do with the seaside air. It’s perfect for photographs. We shot in three locations, one was the Margate caves, the parking lot of Dreamland, and the Nayland Rock hotel.”
