Vivienne Westwood and Palace present their first collab
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
The new season has officially begun and so far there’s already one collaboration that promises to take the statuette for the best, and that’s the one between British brands Vivienne Westwood and Palace, which are united by their respective disruptive spirits.
Unveiled in a lookbook shot by Shoichi Aoki, the launch features everything from clothing, accessories, jewellery, and even skateboards, all inspired by each other’s heritage – just take a look at the GORE-TEX jacket that’s made with VW’s ‘Salon’ print, or the bags.
Of the collaboration, Andreas Kronthaler commented: “From the first day I went to Palace years ago, I liked what they were doing. Their designs are made with quality, they are accessible and democratic. It felt natural for us to join forces, it was a very playful exercise and it was a pleasure working with the team and making new friends”.
Meanwhile, Palace Co-Founders Tanju and Gareth Skewis said: “We love them, and we always have. To bring this collection to life was a dream come true and we wanted to shoot the collection in London, our shared home. Palace is independent, Vivienne Westwood is independent, and we admire independence”.
What do you think of the Vivienne Westwood and Palace collaboration – are you thinking of getting your hands on some? If so, run because it’s already on sale, both online and in some of their physical stores.
