Carhartt WIP has collaborated with Solovair to create three exclusive leather styles. The collection uses Carhartt WIP’s signature colors: black, Hamilton Brown, and a dusty version of that brown. Each shoe features Solovair’s defining characteristic (the soft-rubber Goodyear welt sole) and a subtle embossed “C” logo at the heel.

The styles are variations on classic forms. There is a three-eyelet Gibson design, offered in both high-gloss black and high-gloss dusty Hamilton Brown leather. The third option is a soft brown suede shoe with a single monk strap buckle. Each pair comes with two sets of colored laces, matching the collection’s palette.

The key to these shoes is the Goodyear welt construction. This is a specific method where a strip of leather is stitched to the upper part of the shoe and the insole. This creates a more durable product and, importantly, one that can be resoled and repaired years later. This process is not fast. Each pair takes between 12 and 16 weeks to make by hand.
