SIEGENTHALER Shows First Collection in Paris: Lore Genesis
by Anna Barr
SIEGENTHALER presented his debut collection during Paris Fashion Week with an immersive installation. The staging conceived with Studio AFFAIRE À SUIVRE intersects Fassbinder’s “Querelle” and the cinematics of “Final Fantasy”, drawing on the work of Corentin Darré, a young visual artist from the French queer scene.
Rather than focusing on a season, the collection is built of modular pieces that evolve with you. Each piece of the twelve silhouettes from the first collection “LORE GENESIS” is an ode to modularity. Like in a video game, each silhouette is the result of a reconstruction of wardrobe pieces, orchestrated by its player in a quest for identity.
The HILDEGARD T-shirts and sweatshirts offer transformable elements between sleeves and shoulders. The draped BAHAMUT shirts feature adjustable fastenings, while the FENRIR jumpsuits have detachable elements at strategic points. The signature accessory, KRAKEN chaps, available in a variety of styles, seamlessly integrate into tailored pants or gabardine jumpsuits. The ready-to-wear pieces are made from high-quality fabrics from dormant stocks, provided by Nona Source; on the other, the collection features meticulously detailed couture pieces adorned with handmade chainmail.

ABOUT:
Paris based designer Duc Siegenthaler honed his skills as head of Tailoring and Couture at Y/PROJECT under the tutelage of Glenn Martens. After collaborations with brands such as FAGUO, Y/PROJECT, and MAISON BLANCHE, Duc felt the need to establish an authentic design language that reflects his philosophy. An introspection that led to the creation of his SIEGENTHALER, embodying his vision of fashion. Inspired by HEROIC FANTASY avatars and analytical study of vintage clothing, he deconstructs clothing and gender codes to create a disturbing and fluctuating wardrobe. A contemporary approach rooted in the exploration of shapes and volumes in the service of a poetic approach to bodies.
