Saint Laurent Spring 2023 Campaign
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
Can you think of a better way to start the year than by bringing together four film directors to star in an advertising campaign? We’ll tell you the answer: NO, there is not. This is precisely what Saint Laurent has done, kicking off 2023 in style and in the most iconic way.
We categorize this action as iconic, partly because of the chosen cast, as it is not every day that you have the privilege of having as the image of a campaign the film directors Abel Ferrara, David Cronenberg, Jim Jarmusch, and Pedro Almodóvar.
All of them decided to answer the call of Saint Laurent’s current creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, and accept his proposal. Dressed from top to bottom in one of Maison’s star colors, black, and accompanying some of their looks with accessories such as sunglasses, they posed in front of the lens of the renowned British photographer, David Sims.
Some critics might consider these directors to be icons of “bad” taste, but this is not our case, nor for Saint Laurent.
