Primavera Sound Barcelona has revealed its 2026 lineup, and it feels like a world in miniature. The festival, set for June 4th to 6th with events spanning a full week, has announced 150 artists. The list is a mix of generations and sounds, held together by the festival’s own distinct logic.
The headliners tell the story. The Cure, with their long history and recent acclaimed album, leads the bill. They are joined by the ever-changing pop of Doja Cat, the long-awaited return of The xx, the animated world of Gorillaz, and the first-ever Primavera performance by Massive Attack. Add to that pop phenomenon Addison Rae and the powerful return of shoegaze pioneers My Bloody Valentine. In just seven names, you get decades of music.
But the real character of Primavera Sound is in the depth of the list. It’s in the familiar faces like Mac DeMarco, Father John Misty, and Big Thief, alongside artists making their debut, like Lola Young. It’s in the electronic energy of Skrillex and Peggy Gou, and the rising voices of Ethel Cain and Blood Orange.
The festival’s unique quality is how it places these artists next to each other. You can move from the metalcore of Knocked Loose to the folk of Annahstasia. From the theatrical pop of MARINA to the post-hardcore of Touché Amoré. The lineup includes traditional Portuguese fado, hyperactive electronic beats, noise rock, and miniature symphonies. This variety is the point. The festival creates a space where an Iranian percussionist, a Scottish bagpiper, and local Spanish acts all share the same stage.
This edition also plays with time. It brings back bands like Rilo Kiley from the past, showcases artists with recent successes, and highlights new voices like Dijon and Ralphie Choo, who point toward the future.
The announcement begins the countdown. Tickets will be available through a Fan Sale starting September 29th. For one week in June, the Parc del Fòrum and other venues across Barcelona will become a map of this entire musical world, a place where all these sounds can naturally coexist.
