Nine Inch Nails and Dr. Martens Team Up for The Downward Spiral Collection
by Adriano Batista
Nine Inch Nails‘ landmark album, The Downward Spiral, turns 30 this year. This dark and intense masterpiece is getting a unique tribute: a collaboration with footwear brand Dr. Martens.
The Downward Spiral Collection celebrates the raw emotion and rebellion of the album. NIN’s music is known for pushing boundaries, and this collection does the same with Dr. Martens’ classic silhouettes.

The collection features two takes on Dr. Martens’ iconic 1460 boot. One features striking black and white versions of the album’s “Wound” artwork, while the other showcases the “Crystal Teeth” image from the album’s interior art. Both boots come with special touches like branded zippers and industrial-inspired details.
For a truly unique piece, the collection also includes a custom 1490 boot inspired by NIN’s wild pre-show rituals. This boot features a post-apocalyptic corn starch print and comes with two sets of laces for a customizable look.
The crown jewel of the collection is a special edition 1490 boot featuring the entire Downward Spiral album art embossed on the leather. These boots won’t be for sale, but will be gifted to some of NIN’s most dedicated fans.
