MODAPORTUGAL LINKS, a platform connecting young fashion designers with Portuguese textile and clothing industries, recently took place in Porto. The event showcased the work of 20 talented designers from six well-known European fashion schools, including Aalto University, Institut Français de la Mode, Polimoda, Modatex Porto, London College of Fashion, and HEAD Genève.

After visiting Portuguese factories like Calvelex, Polopiqué, Riopele, and Valérius Recycling Centre, the designers presented their collections to an international jury. The competition aimed to foster collaboration between emerging talent and established industries, promoting the use of new materials and techniques.

Maxence Guenin from HEAD Genève emerged as the overall winner, while other talented designers were also recognized: Neža Simčič (Finland), Carla Mignano (France), Ian McDonald (Italy), Maria Nunes with Concei.to_Normal (Portugal), and Eden Sherry (United Kingdom). This event highlights Portugal’s commitment to nurturing young fashion talent and driving innovation in the textile and clothing industry.
