Minimalism and classic appeal in Axel Arigato and Mulberry’s first capsule collection
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
New week, new collaboration. That seems to be how it works. And the protagonists of this new alliance are none other than Swedish lifestyle brand Axel Arigato and British luxury brand Mulberry.
Everyone knows the two parties involved in this project, which consists of a limited-edition capsule inspired by pop culture moments from the last 50 years, fusing minimalism with classic appeal. The result of this fusion is an exclusive selection of 35 items, ranging from ready-to-wear and handbags to footwear and accessories (all unisex in style).
The offer includes a selection of garments such as two-tone trench coats, embroidered varsity jackets, and some monogrammed jeans. Any of these pieces can be successfully paired with Axel Arigato’s new Area Sneaker, designed with Mulberry’s signature padlock, or with any of the bags featured in the line, such as the “Oversized Bayswater” or the “Maddison”.
One thing to note about the items that make up the capsule is that, apart from the fact that some of them bear the insignia of the two brands, following Mulberry’s “Made to Last” philosophy and Axel Arigato’s commitment to responsible design, all the bags have been produced in the British firm’s factories in the UK, and the footwear has been handmade in Portugal from recycled PET bottles. As for the garments, all the cotton products used are GOT-certified.
Undoubtedly this launch has been something that Axel Arigato and Mulberry have been delighted and delighted about, as both parties stated in the press release. “We’re delighted to reveal our collaboration with Axel Arigato, a brand which shares our values of community and creativity. Through Axel Arigato’s innovative and contemporary approach, iconic elements of our Mulberry DNA and archive have been reinterpreted on a collection with sustainability at its core, making this an exciting manifestation of the essence of both our brands,” said Mulberry’s CEO, Thierry Andretta.
