The holiday season has begun and we would like to welcome you to Dover Street Market where the new Comme des Garçons’ holiday campaign for 2010, Merry Happy Crazy Colour, is launching today alongside a new window featuring a life size Elephant by artist Stephanie Quayle.

Initially inspired by the manic colours in the work of ‘assume vivid astro focus’ (avaf), a visual and performance artist group, this year’s holiday campaign is enough to drive you crazy.

With a concoction of limited edition products in all kinds of mad colours, designed and curated by Comme des Garçons, one could seriously get a headache this year trying to choose what to buy.

The products include mini rucksacks, polka dot teddy bears, colourful resin jewellery from Thai designer, Ek Thongprasert, men’s heavy metal chain necklace from Florian of Austria, a lego block ornament from New York’s Nathan Sawaya, a hand made papier maché covered perfume bottle, as well as multicoloured patchwork knits and PLAY T-shirts, and not forgetting the green pink and yellow cotton shirts and matching sarouels, all from Comme des Garçons.

Each item has a hang tag showing the work of avaf, and comes wrapped in a carrier bag, featuring the same art work, which could come in pink, blue or yellow, depending on your luck.

Come along and see for yourself, make merry, be happy, sometimes crazy but always with colour!
