It’s finally here! And no, as you can see, it’s not Summer, no matter how good the temperatures are and how much you’re looking forward to it. What we’re referring to is the new LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza collection and campaign, which, like every year, has arrived with a bang. The summer spirit that has predominated in each and every one of the previous collections/campaigns is once again present, as well as the Ibiza mentality. The “isla bonita”, as it is known by many, is one of the unmissable summer destinations, partly because of the creative energies it gives off and its relaxed and multifaceted lifestyle, something very close to LOEWE and its creative director Jonathan Anderson.
Island life is what makes Ibiza, Ibiza. Hours spent on the beach, on a boat, or by the pool, day and night, having fun in the radiant sunshine and in full contact with the elements. This spirit permeates the collection, designed to be enjoyed in an island setting or to give a summer getaway feel in the city.
When it’s time to pack your bags and head for the beach, you can’t miss the simple, versatile garments that are all about fabric, such as those offered by LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza line: polo shirts, skirts, crochet dresses, some of them with leaf patches, knitted tops, jeans in all their versions, long, bermudas or micro shorts, which are the epitome of freedom and casualness.
Sunglasses are a must in a summer look, and this season’s are especially daring and playful. “Wave Mask” and “Flame” come in oversized shapes with contrasting padded profiles. Footwear comes in the form of vulcanised Terra trainers, Extralight® Bubble foam with oversized logo appliqués, or in the form of espadrilles, and complements the looks.
Woven raffia and Iraca palm are two of the fabrics that best represent the selection of accessories presented, with Iraca baskets and the launch of the LOEWE Font Tote. For every Iraca basket and LOEWE Font Tote sold, LOEWE will donate 15 euros to the local communities that make them by hand. The donation will help create a university scholarship program in Colombia and build an artisan training school in Madagascar. New styles are introduced in the bag fabrics: the colorful LOEWE Font Tote, with the logo boldly displayed, is available in three different sizes; the Petal Basket, with a ruffled profile. The small and practical Gardener Bucket is inspired by plant motifs. The roomy men’s Fold Shopper is suitable for a variety of uses from the beach to the city. To add a personalized touch to the bags, the collection also includes a wide selection of fun charms.
The LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza collection is complemented by a campaign, once again photographed by Gray Sorrenti, that celebrates island life with the creative community that gathers around LOEWE. The images, shot outdoors in Ibiza and Colombia, portray a cross-section of international talent and creatives: Alewya, Bad Gyal, Mason Hyce Barnes, Guitarricadelafuente, Emily Ratajkowski, Devin Halbal, and Karol G.
