La morsure des termites: Études x Palais de Tokyo x Ari Marcopoulos
by Adriano Batista
A colossal assembly of over fifty artists from around the world converges at Palais de Tokyo, delving into the annals of art history through the prism of graffiti. “La morsure des termites” exposes the profound influence of street art and underground culture across diverse artistic landscapes. It’s a multifaceted showcase featuring paintings, archives, videos, editions, installations, and fragments from various sources.

This exhibition connects the dots through transgression, play, and the spirit of wandering. Études, with its roots in graffiti’s origins, brings this synergy to life, especially evident in their latest FW23-24 collection, CENTRE-VILLE, drawing inspiration from the scribbles of public places.
The partnership between Études and Palais de Tokyo is a testament to their shared passion for graffiti and street art’s immense influence. For this special event, Études collaborates with New York photographer Ari Marcopoulos, who contributes “Buff I, Paris (2007)” to create a limited-edition T-shirt, available exclusively at Palais de Tokyo.

Mark your calendars: October 19, 2023, to January 7, 2024, at Palais de Tokyo, 13, avenue du Président Wilson, Paris 16ème.
