Emily Sanders is a fashion design menswear student at Kingston University. Her Graduate Collection titled “The Wallflowers“, was inspired by the construction of identities and the reasons why we choose to dress accordingly to these different identities.

Originally inspired by Whit Stillman’s 1990 film Metropolitan and, in particular the socially anxious protagonist Tom Townsend, the starting point of the collection began exploring the idea of the modern age wallflower and how he would look. Emily wanted to create a character who eliminated the idea of ‘taste’ and wore things in his own way.
