Art and fashion have long been said to share a secret language — one of emotion, gesture, and transformation. Last night, in the heart of Milan, that connection came vividly to life during an intimate dinner hosted by the Italian fashion brand Fiorucci, currently under the creative direction of Francesca Murri, to mark the opening of Jason Hendrik Hansma’s solo exhibition, “In Our Real Life.”
The evening unfolded in a setting transformed into a sensorial tableau: red dominated the space, casting its glow over a silver-toned table around which artists, curators, and friends of the brand gathered. Beneath the gentle crimson light, Hansma spoke quietly about the ideas that anchor his practice — fire, memory, and time — elements that burn, fade, and return in a continuous rhythm of transformation.
Beyond the intimacy of that dinner, the conversation now expands inside Circolo UltraFiorucci, located on Via Lomazzo 19 — a place that, true to the company’s ethos, merges fashion, culture, and experimentation. Curated by The Community, In Our Real Life welcomes visitors into an immersive environment where urgency meets beauty, and reflection becomes a form of resistance.
Inside the exhibition, a monumental LED wall displays footage of forest fires, alongside six large-scale paintings created with traditional Milanese gilders. A black carpet scattered with silver dust and perfumed with firewood incense completes the scene, all bathed in a deep red glow that transforms the gallery into a liminal, dreamlike landscape.
“With In Our Real Life, Circolo UltraFiorucci becomes a space to pause and reflect — not only on aesthetics, but on how we live together,” notes Francesca Murri. “Jason’s work brings poetry to urgent questions about climate and memory, something deeply connected to Fiorucci’s spirit: playful, daring, and engaged with the world around us.”
For Alessandro Pisani, CEO of the brand, the project underscores Fiorucci’s cultural ambition: “Fiorucci has always been more than fashion; it’s a cultural force. Hosting this exhibition reaffirms our commitment to new voices and to art as a catalyst for dialogue and change.”
Rather than consuming, fire here illuminates — a symbol of renewal and awareness. Open to the public from 15th October to 2nd November 2025, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the exhibition invites Milan to experience a moment where art and fashion converge, urging us to pause, breathe, and look anew.
