With just a few weeks to go before its Spring/Summer 2025 show at Milan Fashion Week, Italian luxury brand DSQUARED2, founded and creatively directed by the coolest twins in the industry – Dean and Dan Caten – have presented their Pre-Spring/Summer 2025 collection in a lookbook, accompanied by several questions: Who is the Dsquared2 man? What’s he wearing this Saturday night? To go hiking on the weekend? Walk across the city?
As can be seen, these questions are easy to answer and are roughly related to each other. The DSQUARED2 man is a unique, free, and naughty guy, who likes to have fun with fashion and is prepared to be successful in all kinds of situations, covered by the DSQUARED2 clothing and accessories.
Starting with the most relaxed and outdoor moments, the duo has created a wardrobe full of urban style pieces with sporty and sartorial touches, striking for the fabrics they are made, such as cotton, nylon in different modalities, and washed denim. These features are represented in different types of jackets, trousers – long or short – and vintage-style T-shirts. The novelty of this part is represented by the double-knit jackets and shorts, an effect achieved thanks to the technical denim cut that exposes the lining of the piece.
Once the sun goes down and it gets dark, the DSQUARED2 man becomes a cowboy. Here is where the Western influence comes into play, bringing elegance and sparkle to evening looks; examples are jackets or waistcoats in gold sequins; jeans with decorative crystals in the form of bows on the pockets and leg cuffs, or black jeans with mini crystals on the hems. Complementing these are sheer Western shirts with beaded lace yoke, perfect for wearing with trousers with soft pleated leather fronts cinched with silver buckle belts. More is more in the world of night imagined by the Catens.
In that world, although it is dark and naughtier, there is also room for calm, and DSQUARED2, while liking the wild, also understands that there are some who are calmer, so it has designed a series of elegant, classic, cool, and summery suits that reveal the house’s Italian sartorial roots, in fabrics such as fine cotton, wool and cut viscose.
The collection is rounded off by the accessories and footwear offering, which ranges from fanny packs and backpacks in military tones, to white rubber-soled boots, biker and Sprinter boots, to worn-in retro-style running shoes.
