Crafting Elegance: Louis Vuitton’s Tribute to the Olympic and Paralympic Spirit
by Adriano Batista

In a collaboration with Paris 2024, Louis Vuitton unveils its latest masterpieces: the Medals Trunks and Torches Trunks, exclusively designed for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trunks are not only a testament to Louis Vuitton’s enduring legacy of handcrafting bespoke trunks but also symbolize the brand’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
The Medals Trunks, destined to carry the Olympic and Paralympic medals, and the Torches Trunks, housing the official Olympic and Paralympic torches, are integral to Louis Vuitton’s role in the upcoming Paris 2024 events. These trunks will take center stage during major moments such as the Olympic and Paralympic Torches Relays and will be prominently featured at the Champions Park.

Joining the ranks of Louis Vuitton’s illustrious trophy trunks, the Medals Trunks and Torches Trunks are the latest additions to a lineage that began in 1988. For over three decades, Louis Vuitton has been crafting trunks that are a blend of creative ingenuity, artisanal craftsmanship, and a visionary approach to commemorating the world’s premier sporting events.

The philosophy of design that guides these creations is deeply rooted in the heritage of Louis Vuitton. The founder, after gaining recognition as a master packer and case maker, established his eponymous brand in 1854. His approach was simple yet profound: to thoroughly comprehend an object and then create a tailor-made trunk that offers unparalleled protection. This principle, instilled by the founder, continues to inspire the Maison’s creations, including the Medals Trunks and Torches Trunks, which are crafted to honor the iconic symbols of the Olympics and Paralympics.
