Levi’s has a long history with denim. The new Blue Tab™ collection continues this story, focusing on a specific and respected source: Japanese denim. This line is the brand’s most refined offering, a premium group of garments that respects old methods and includes modern elements.

The entire collection is built around premium Japanese denim. The approach is one of care, where technique and a clear vision combine. The clothing features elevated tailoring and utilitarian shapes that feel sculptural. Classic silhouettes are changed with intricate details, creating something new.

For men, the collection mixes traditional workwear with a current elegance. The Naval Sack Coat takes inspiration from functional 1940s sailor gear, now updated with a quilted lining and donut buttons. The Type I Jacket has a slightly cropped fit with fitted sleeves. Other tops, like the Work Shirt and Fishtail Parka, represent a polished version of Americana.

The pants follow this principle. The Naval Flare Pants reimagine sailor pants in denim made on the famous Kaihara loom. The Marker Loose has a relaxed shape, and the men’s 505® Jeans are offered in a special Made in Japan version.

Photographer Juergen Teller shot the campaign. His images place the collection’s silhouettes in the calm setting of a traditional Japanese sento, or bathhouse. Each picture contains nods to Japanese artistry, mirroring the unique character and high quality of the denim itself.
