The first Monday in May of every year has become a special date in the calendar of everyone interested in the fashion world. We assume that most of the readers of this article know what we are talking about, but in case there is anyone who doesn’t, we are referring to the well-known MET GALA.

Regarding fashion events, there is no other similar event that surpasses it. The most important celebrities and industry professionals on the planet attend it, dressed in their best attire, to see first-hand the exhibition that opens each year, which in this case is called “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and explores fashion through the lens of black dandyism.

And since we’ve already mentioned the looks, do you want to know who wore the best ones? Find out them below:

BAD BUNNY

The Puerto Rican artist, considered one of the stars of the decade, has become a style icon over the years. Benito knows what he likes and what he doesn’t, and therefore what works in fashion, which in this case is a custom-made PRADA look like the one he chose, consisting of a brown jacket and trousers suit made of mohair kidskin, combined with a tobacco poplin shirt and finished off with accessories such as a raffia tie, a natural rope and leather belt, embellished leather gloves, an oversized bolero bag from the Fall/Winter 2025 collection, and a pair of natural-coloured canvas boots.

Colman Domingo

The American actor, stage director, and playwright – as well as one of the gala’s co-hosts – was one of the most applauded of the evening with the two looks he wore, both created exclusively for him by the Italian fashion house VALENTINO and its current creative director Alessandro Michele.

For the first, he wore a long blue pleated cape, paired with an ivory linen bolero embroidered with gold and silver sequins, with small antique silver canes and ivory feathers.

While the second was a double-breasted, straight-shouldered jacket in black and butter checks, adorned with hand-woven pearl and crystal embroidery, an ivory poudre grain wool waistcoat and pois scarf, a butter silk shirt with black stripes and gold lamé thread, and wide-legged woollen trousers.

Justice Smith

Continuing with VALENTINO, this was the house that also dressed the Californian actor Justice Smith for the ceremony.

The look Smith rocked was one of the most different and freshest, and that was partly because of the genderless vibe it had due to the butter wool cropped jacket with straight shoulders and black soutache buttons, the posy lace turtleneck, the silk scarf, the butter wool flared trousers, and the accessories he finished it off with.

More than deserved to be on the list, right?

Lewis Hamilton

The Formula 1 driver was another co-host of the evening, and his look by designer Grace Wales Bonner was more than up to the task. Lewis was not only elegant, but also royalty and supreme, as he looked like a prince in his ivory two-piece jacket and trousers with a satin effect, and with the accessories in the form of a bow tie/ bow tie and jewellery.

Jeff Goldblum

If there is a dandy par excellence in the current star scene, it is Mr. Goldblum, who didn’t miss the gala either, also dressed by British designer Grace Wales Bonner.

Jeff decided to stay true to his classic style and opted for a perfectly structured suit that stood out mainly for the double-breasted jacket, over whose top he wore a three-quarter coat in the same tone and with fur collars.

Keith Power

One of the firms that understands tailoring best is Germany’s BOSS, responsible for the look of American actor Keith Power, who wore a fitted, short wool blazer with shawl collar and single-button fastening, paired with a striped silk shirt with mao collar and jacquard polka-dot tie, and black checked Italian wool oxford-style trousers with a side stripe of silk ribbon. Cream leather boots with heels finished off the look.

Tramell Tillman

Last but not least, our list of the best dressed at the last MET GALA is closed by the Washington D.C. star.

Apple TV+’s “Severance” actor was one of the lucky ones to be part of the guest cast that the eponymous American brand, Thom Browne, brought to the gala. We say lucky, because being dressed in one of Mr. Browne’s designs is considered by many to be a dream come true, as only he can reimagine tailoring over and over and make every one of them fresh and avant-garde yet timeless.

Tillman wore a custom-made look that required 300 hours of handwork and involved more than 5,256 bugle beads and 13,140 seed beads, all hand-sewn, of course. The look was an elongated black velvet tailcoat, trimmed in black silk satin, and adorned with a bouquet of handmade calla lilies fastened to the chest with a silk satin ribbon, a grey and white university stripe oxford shirt with round collar and black silk faille bow tie, classic black and white pinstripe trousers fitted to the body with a black silk faille cummerbund, and black and white patent leather ballerina-style opera shoes.
