Design Miami/ makes its premiere this October in Paris
by Ivica Mamedy
The global fair for collectible design, Design Miami/ announced last June their first edition in Paris. As the sister fair to Art Basel, the inaugural Design Miami/ Paris will coincide with Paris+ by Art Basel from 18 to 22 October 2023, joining the flagship fairs in Basel, Switzerland, and Miami Beach, Florida. Marking its debut in the Paris design scene, Design Miami/ will forecast the best of contemporary art and design at L’Hôtel de Maisons, located in Saint-Germain-des-Près, a strategic cultural hub that is to many of the world’s leading collectible design galleries. The 18th-century mansion welcoming the fair stands as an iconic landmark deeply rooted in Parisian history, previously home to Karl Lagerfeld and several generations of the Pozzo di Borgo family.

CEO of Design Miami/, Jen Roberts said “Paris has always held great significance to Design Miami/. As a capital of collectible design, it is home to many celebrated galleries, partners, and brands who have been integral to the scholarship and evolution of this market. We are committed to the city’s vibrant and multifaceted creative landscape, and hope that the new Paris fair will continue Design Miami’s ongoing mission to bring together our influential community of designers and gallerists, curators, and collectors, in celebration of design culture.”

Design Miami’s expansion to Paris marks a natural evolution for the fair, following a long history of collaboration with established galleries and partners across the city. The debut of Design Miami/ Paris exemplifies the fair’s continued commitment to cultivating a growing global design community. The fair will showcase a robust program including an international lineup of galleries presenting the best of historic and contemporary design. For this premiere, some of our favorite galleries will be there such as Galerie Kreo, Galerie Mitterrand, Ketabi Bourdet Design, Laffanour-Galerie Downtown, Thomas Fritsch-Artrium as well as Paulin Paulin Paulin in collaboration with the Mobilier National.
