The collection was inspired by an exhibition (Strange Days & Modern Day Rogues, Boris Postma, 4bid Gallery) that featured images taken in the 1990s and aimed to ask the question: “Gabbers, skinheads, metalheads and other youth subcultures, where are they now? The collection explores the feelings of belonging and the search for one’s own identity in a homogeneous and hegemonic society through subcultures and minority groups, as well as the intention or needs to rebel against established and oppressive canons.
