Wood Wood x ASICS Tiger
by Adriano Batista

Wood Wood and ASICS Tiger have come together to create a unique head-turning version of the GEL–DS Trainer OG in occasion of Wood Wood’s 15 year anniversary. Previewed at the Wood Wood Fall/Winter 2017 runway show during Milan Fashion Week, the W.W. GEL–DS Trainer OG will launch exclusively at Wood Wood stores and at the ASICS Tiger store in Osaka, Japan on May 6th.

The Wood Wood GEL–DS Trainer OG is created in a characteristic ASICS look emphasizing the 90s origins of the model. The lightweight runner gone life-style has received a striking metallic make-over with pops of red and blue evoking memories of disc based media players. The colour detailing is seen on the anodized eyelets, lace tips and the forefoot part of the outsole. The silver synthetic leather uppers feature black outlines as a nod to traditional running shoes and point to the fact that the model was originally designed for serious high mileage running.

Featuring ASICS GEL technology for perfect density, the GEL–DS Trainer OG has a DuoSole outsole for enhanced flexibility, durability and traction. A skeleton upper is designed for extra midfoot stability and the neoprene bootie provide the perfect fit. Additional detailing includes stitched ASICS GEL logo on the heel, mesh toebox, oval laces and W.W. branding on the tongue.

The Wood Wood / ASICS GEL–DS Trainer OG will launch exclusively at the ASICS Tiger store in Osaka, Japan and at Wood Wood stores in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Frederiksberg, Berlin and at woodwood.com on Saturday May 6th.
