TONSURE Fall/Winter 2015 Lookbook

Scandinavian menswear label TONSURE unveiled its Fall/Winter 2015 lookbook. Key pieces in the collection, include a coat and peacoat in the softest, cuddly teddy bear fur, with both made in close collaboration with Steiff, the world famous german teddy bear manufacturer.
“I got hit by nostalgia” says Malte Flagstad, a former MA Central Saint Martins graduate and Maison Martin Margiela menswear designer, and since the start, Creative Director of TONSURE. “But my sense of nostalgia is rather modernistic. The fantastic french actress Simone Signoret once said in her memoirs: Nostalgia isn´t what it used to be and so is my take on nostalgia and tradition: Always Now. My dads striped nylon watch straps from the seventies, a forgotten college blazer I found in the closet and the old and trusted teddy bears set my mind going. So when I wanted to make a soft coat for the collection I naturally thought of Steiff, because they have always produced the best, high quality teddy bears. They liked the idea of working together and the result is just great. Naturally each finished coat had to have an equally soft mini Steiff teddy bear attached too...”
