BETTER™ GIFT SHOP and SALOMON have teamed up for their inaugural collab collection on the Shelter CS WP, Salomon’s hiking favorites.
Known for re-purposing iconic items, Better™ Gift Shop put their spin on the Shelter’s rigid silhouette by combining olive tones (inspired by German artist Gerhard Richter Forest 4 (2005)) to overhaul the upper, offering it a neutral treatment accented by lavender on the lace loops and inner lining. The lavender itself is inspired by the Munstead Lavender Plant, which can survive up to 20 years in the mountains – hearkening to the versatility and durability of the Salomon Shelter CS WP.
“Technical gear in urban environments makes our day-to-day lives more seamless,” said Better™ Gift Shop’s designer Jordan Thomas. “The shoe is intended for everyday use in different outdoor and urban environments that make each metropolitan area unique. Whether you’re in Toronto, New York, Paris, or Tokyo, concrete and forest are only separated by a train ride, so we wanted to create something that could straddle both terrains.”
