FASHIONCLASH Maastricht is a unique platform in particular for  ‘young’ and talented designers / artists to present their work to a diverse (inter) national audience. For visitors this is a unique opportunity to discover new talent, make contacts, and to be inspired by the art of fashion.

More than one hundred international talents will show their work during ‘FASHIONCLASH Maastricht’ from 10 to 12 June 2011. This year the event will take place in a new location, SAMdecorfabriek, the Decor Factory of Mosa, located on the Meerssenerweg, just behind the Central Station.

PROGRAM

FASHIONCLASH creates CLASH with a diverse program, a creative and cultural encounter of different designers, disciplines and cultures around fashion.

FASHION SHOWS

There are fashion shows where upcoming fashion talents will present their collections. Fashion designers, Karishma Shahani (IND), Luciana Teixeira (PRT), MEM Couture (SVN), Jivika Biervliet (NL), Lukasz Stepien (PL), Angelo van Mol (BE), Branko Popovic (NL), Nawie Kuiper (NL), and Delikatessen(NL) and Ingo Binder (NL).

The OFFER Berlin (DE) presents six designers from Berlin, including Tata Christiane, Manikó and Von Bardonitz.

EXHIBITION

In the exhibition, various works with a link to fashion will be exhibited. Works like photography, video, textiles and jewellery. Fashion label fORS (NL), Leonneke Derksen(NL) and Musa Shah (NL) will present their fashion collections in the exhibition, Wieteke Opmeer (NL) and Lore Langedries (BE) will present their jewellery and the collective Studio Noir will present photography inspired by the concept ‘fashion clash’.

You can also see in the exposition the work of Ulrik Martin Larsen (DK), Natascha Plum & Aleksandra Žiravac (SR) and Maite Catti NL.


CLASH PROJECT

Ten non-fashion designers are invited to design a fashion outfit. Textile designer Jane Bowler (UK), furniture designer Frederick Färg (SE) and designer HEYNIEK (NL) will translate their vision on fashion into an outfit for the catwalk.

ABKM SHOW

Sunday, June 12 is the special ABKM day, with fashion shows of the fashion and textile department of the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht. ABKM show is as always a spectacular show with the work from 2nd and 3rd year fashion students and of course the graduation collections as a highlight. http://www.abkmaastricht.nl/
