Marni has opened its first cafe in Tokyo. It is a new step in the brand’s vision for a lifestyle, a place built around the simple pleasure of taste.

The cafe is a collaboration with pastry chef Asako Iwayanagi. The menu is a sophisticated take on French pastries, all rethought with a modern feel and a strong focus on design. Marni’s love of color shapes everything, from the food to the walls.

The building’s front is made of reflective, corrugated metal. It leads your eye to the heart of the space: a large terrazzo counter. This central island holds the coffee station and displays the chef’s delicate desserts. The interior is defined by clean lines and a play of tones. Bright colors mix with soft pastels, echoed in the terrazzo floors. Shiny steel and black marble tables provide a sharp contrast. The famous Marcel Breuer chairs, covered in a water-blue fabric, add another splash of color.

This is a place for conversation and for enjoying desserts that feel emotional. The treats are served on fine porcelain from the MARNI x SERAX collection, engaging the senses of taste, smell, and sight.

The menu changes with the seasons, highlighting fresh, high-quality ingredients. While desserts are the main event (like artisanal parfaits and tiramisu), there is also a savory selection for brunch or a light lunch. Throughout the cafe, Marni’s signature multi-colored boxes hold chocolates and sandwiches. They sit on shelves, acting as both design objects and a tempting offer for a gift or a personal treat.

The parfaits, a specialty of Chef Iwayanagi, are a central part of the experience. Made to order, they are built with intricate layers of flavor and texture, meant to surprise and delight. The drink menu, made just for the MARNI CAFE, includes special blends and infusions, each prepared with care.

It is more than a place to eat. It is an invitation to step into Marni’s universe, one sweet bite at a time.
