Still Pelotas, Still Got Balls
by Adriano Batista
Camper is once again focusing on one of its most iconic models: Pelotas. With a new campaign, the Mallorcan brand aims to relaunch this iconic design worldwide, reminding us why it has become a symbol of quality and timeless style.
Created in 1995, Pelotas was inspired by old hand-sewn footballs, capturing the essence of sports and the passion of its pioneers. Its design, characterized by a rubber sole with 87 balls stitched 360 degrees to a high-quality European leather upper, has been synonymous with durability and comfort since its launch.
For this new campaign, Camper has decided to give Pelotas Ariel a fresh look. Inspired by 90s boxing boots, the new hand-brushed finish gives it a more robust and sporty appearance. Additionally, two fun TWINS color-block versions are presented, perfect for those seeking a touch of color and originality.
The Pelotas campaign takes us to a natural and vibrant environment, near Montserrat. The images, captured analogously by photographer Aitor Laspiur, show a group of young people enjoying outdoor activities, such as cycling and playing in the grass. These scenes convey a sense of freedom and joy, and reflect the essence of the Camper brand: a relaxed lifestyle connected to nature.
